About the TEST
The Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT) is an exam administered to 8th and 9th-grade students in New York City who are interested in attending one of the city's specialized high schools. The test measures a student's ability in math and English language arts and is the sole factor in determining admission to these highly competitive schools. Attending a specialized high school can offer students unique educational opportunities and access to rigorous academic programs.
